VISIT to Kaunas University of Technology (KTU)

I used the grant NORDTEK Travel Grants for Training for period for the exchange: 18 days (21.09.2022-08.10.2022).
The aim of this training mobility was sharing of expertise and knowledge as well as achievements in the Cybersecurity engineering and Adaptronics programs to improve quality of training, abilities of students and new materials for practical works in field of critical infrastructure management.
Within the framework of the approved curriculum, Cybersecurity Engineering carried out practical work for students, with the support of associated professor Rasa Bruzgiene from Faculty of Informatics at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU).
The work was done in a laboratory with different platforms and infrastructures providing a plug and play environment to match the heterogeneous real world at Kaunas University of Technology.
Technologies covered include system servers, software-defined network switches (SDN), IoT devices and gateways, intrusion detection software, large-scale data storage, and drones.
The laboratories also used a traffic generator and devices for intelligent network infrastructures.
In the Malware laboratory, students studied penetration testing tools for main industrial technologies and software tools that allow students to analyze software platforms, web applications, and networks to discover security vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit.
These labs are critical to executing cybersecurity projects in collaboration with industry and faculty researchers, as well as graduate and undergraduate students.
Together we followed the laboratory works of student groups, and developed of our own methodological approach, and academic materials for international students of RTU during practical and group work in subject “Industrial computer networks” EEI411 for undergraduate students.
