The mission of the NORDTEK network is to strengthen the engineering and technology sciences in the Nordic and Baltic regions by supporting exchange of experience and collaboration in higher education, and to contribute to addressing societal challenges through collaboration in research, innovation, and life-long learning.
Objectives
The internal objectives are, mainly by supporting exchange of experience, mobility, projects, working groups, and other cooperations within the network, focusing on
- strengthening and developing the members’ engineering programmes and teaching of life-long learning,
- strengthening the members’ doctoral education programmes and research,
- addressing, discussing and developing emerging engineering topics.
The external objectives are, mainly by being visible and a public voice, and doing lobbying and try to influence different national and international forums for engineering related topics, focusing on
- promoting the good international reputation of the Nordic and Baltic engineering education programmes and research,
- increasing the interest in engineering and STEM,
- initiate, and maintain collaboration with industry, relevant associations and authorities.
